Huskers Add Three More Signees

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska track and field program has announced the addition of three more signees to the 2015 class.

Ryan Bates (Lincoln East), Elijah Lucy (Emeryville, Calif.) and Danie Plank (Kansas State transer) will join the Huskers this fall. The new additions bring the incoming Husker class total to 28 with eight previously signing in November, 15 in April and two more in June.

Attended Lincoln East High School and played baseball for three years before switching to track as a senior...was the 2015 Class A state runner-up in the 3,200m (9:22.26)...finished fifth in the 1,600m (4:17.58)...was also part of the Spartans' state-qualifying 3,200m relay team...won the LPS Championships 3,200m...ran cross country, finishing ninth at the 2014 Class A state meet (16:28.8).

Elijah Lucy | Emeryville, Calif. (Emery) | Long Jump/Sprints
Excelled in the long jump at Emery High School, recording a personal-best 23-10 as a senior in 2015 to win the North Coast Section Meet of Champions, one of three event titles he captured at the meet...finished seventh at the California State Championships in the long jump...was also a talented sprinter...set a 200m PR of 21.59 as a senior in 2015 and a 400m PR of 48.71...also posted a 100m PR of 10.81.

Danie Plank | Gardner, Kan. (Kansas State/Gardner Edgerton) | Throws
Will be a junior for the Huskers after competing in the javelin two years at Kansas State...recorded a personal best of 167-4 (51.00m) as a freshman in 2014...was an honorable-mention All-America selection in 2014...was third at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships (166-3, 50.67m) as a sophomore...at Gardner Edgerton High School, competed in track and field, volleyball and basketball...four-time event winner in the javelin.
