Ostrander Helps U.S. CNT Blue to Tournament Title

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Alicia Ostrander's U.S. Collegiate National Team squad took first place at the program's round-robin tournament held in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships.

Ostrander's CNT Blue Team defeated the CNT Red Team 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-23 in the first-place match at Morial Convention Center.

Ostrander, a senior from Gordon, Neb., had nine points in the final match to help CNT Blue finish with a perfect 3-0 record. In pool play, Ostrander led CNT Blue to two wins with a team-high 12 points in the first match and 10 in the second.

The CNT program had 35 athletes who began training on June 21 in New Orleans and were split into three teams – CNT Blue, Red and White – for a round-robin tournament held concurrently with the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships to connect current collegiate stars with young athletes dreaming to be in the same position in the future.
