Lohman Breaks Hammer Throw Record Again

Lincoln - For the second meet in a row, Will Lohman broke his own hammer throw school record, as the Nebraska track and field team rolled to 14 event titles at the Husker Spring Invite on a sunny Saturday at Ed Weir Stadium.

Lohman, a senior from Chewelah, Wash., threw 216-2 (65.89) in the hammer throw, topping his previous school record of 214-7 (65.42) set on March 27 at the Pac-12 vs. Big Ten Invitational.

"That was a big improvement from how the meet started," Lohman said. "I didn't know it was going to be that far. I was hoping it was going to be 63 or 64 (meters). It's nice to get the season going like that. I'm looking forward to the next meets for sure."

Later in the afternoon, Lohman added the shot put title with a toss of 61-3 (18.67). In other throw events, Alex Meyer won the women's discus with a PR of 170-1 (51.84m).
