Senior Forward Emily Cady
On what Iowa did in the second half to change momentum
“They kept getting power by running on transition and hitting spot-up shooters like (Melissa) Dixon. We didn’t talk on defense, so that gave them momentum.”
On Cady’s increased aggressiveness
“I feel like I try all the time, but I feel like I tried to be more aggressive.”
On scouting Kali Peschel
“Really good offensive rebounder, effort player, shooter. You’re playing in the Big Ten. Anyone’s capable of anything. We should’ve adjusted better and stopped her.”
On defending the three-pointer
“I felt like for the most part we did pretty well. There were a couple of times where we had a miscommunication and someone would be left wide open. In transition, we didn’t match up very well and that led to three-pointers.”
On losing three in a row
“We just have to keep going game by game. We can’t think about what happened. We can learn from what happened, but we can’t focus on that. We need to focus on the next game.”
On what to focus on while dealing with injuries
“There is big things we have to work on. The main thing is just talking to each other because talking solves everything. If we need to work on defense, it starts with talking to each other. I think that will solve a lot of problems.”
On Nebraska's 22 turnovers
I think a lot of them were just stupid turnovers. How many did we have where we just stepped out of bounds? We would get a steal and just step out of bounds. Those are easily fixable. I’m not too worried about it, I think we’ll be fine.”
Senior Guard Brandi Jeffery
On what to focus on while dealing with injuries
“Also, the little things like knowing where you are supposed to be on defense, knowing offense, getting open, making shots and getting confidence.”
On what she is trying to do with Rachel Theriot out
I’m just trying to be more aggressive and a better passer to my teammates. That’s what Rachel did a lot.”
