Ameer Abdullah continues to impress scouts, fans and media as he prepares for the National Football League. Abdullah’s talents have been on display this week during practices for Reese’s Senior Bowl which will be played on Saturday afternoon in Mobile, Ala.
Abdullah will represent the North squad in the Senior Bowl, a game annually regarded as the premier college all-star game. Abdullah will wear No. 28, and he is joined in the North backfield by fellow Big Ten running backs Jeremy Langford (Michigan State) and David Cobb (Minnesota). Quarterbacks on the North roster include former Oregon State signal caller Sean Mannion, Shane Carden of East Carolina and Baylor’s Bryce Petty.
The North team is being coached by the Tennessee Titans’ coaching staff, led by head coach Ken Whisenhunt. Kickoff on Saturday is 3 p.m. CT, with live television coverage on the NFL Network.
A second-team All-American, Abdullah finished his Nebraska career as the school’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards, while ranking second in career rushing yards. He is the only player in school history with three 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
