Redshirt Recap: Three Huskers Claim York Titles

York, Neb. – Colton McCrystal (141), Tyler Berger (149) and Derek White (197) each won weight class titles at the York College Open on Saturday, Dec. 13.

McCrystal earned three first-period pins and a technical fall on his way to the 141-pound title. Berger notched one technical fall and two decisions before pinning Chadron State’s Terrance McKinney in the finals at 149 pounds. White collected one technical fall and one pin before a 16-9 decision over Cooper Cogdill of Chadron State in the finals.

Brian Peska also competed at the York College Open and posted a 3-2 record at 133 pounds, which included one technical fall and one major decision. All four wrestlers were unattached at the tournament.
