The Nebraska women's bowling team wrapped up the first day of competition at the Crusader Classic in Valparaiso, Ind., Friday. NU found their groove on the lanes, going 5-1 in Baker format games recording a total pinfall of 6,012. The Huskers currently sit in second-place behind the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (6,095 pinfall).
NU opened competition Friday with a victory over rival Arkansas State University (1,035-901 pinfall) before getting narrowly edged out by Vanderbilt University (900-979).
The loss to the Commodores would be the Huskers last, as NU closed the day out winning four-straight matches. The Huskers beat first-place Wisconsin Whitewater 1,001-982, McKendree University 1,086-971, Monmouth 960-840 and Tulane 1,030-853.
The Huskers will be back in action Saturday morning with team games beginning at 9:30 a.m. (CT).
