The Nebraska women’s tennis fall season will come to a close this weekend as four of the eight Huskers make their way to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Jamboree. The three-day event will run from Friday Oct. 24 through Sunday Oct. 26 at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. Along with the Huskers, six other teams will be making an appearance, including Kansas State, Bradley, Iowa, Creighton, Southern Illinois- Edwardsville and Drake.
Junior Mackenna Maddox, Sophomore Mary Hanna, and both redshirt freshmen Spurti Shivalingaiah and Katerina Matysova will be representing the Huskers this weekend as they participate in singles and doubles play.
Competition gets underway at 11 a.m. on Friday with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles. Action continues on Saturday with two rounds of singles starting at 9 a.m. before wrapping up the day with one round of doubles beginning at 5 p.m. On Sunday, doubles action gets underway at 8 a.m. for one round before singles competition concludes starting at 9 a.m.
The four Huskers look to round out their fall season on a high note and gain more valuable experience before they head into their regular season beginning on Saturday Jan. 24 against Air Force and Army at the Nebraska Tennis Complex.
