Freshman wide receiver De'Mornay Pierson-El
On his touchdown pass to Armstrong
“It wasn’t anything too big really. I was surprised at how well I actually threw it. I didn’t warm up or anything so it actually came out pretty nice and I was shocked. I paused for a second. I was just like, 'OK, here you go,' and just threw the ball.”

On punt returns
“They (opponents) will kick it really high and kind of kick it short to give their guys a chance to recover. It doesn’t give our guys time to recover and set their blocks, so I’m pretty sure a lot more people will start doing the same.”

On improving as an offense
“It was the same route that I caught the route over the middle, but I was on the opposite side. I bended it a little bit too early. When we were in the end zone something happened with the fumble. I need to push the outside corner a little more, just sticking him some more.”

On making an impact at the receiver position
“Just helping the offense and helping this team. Being dynamic makes me feel really good because I just want to help this team. I just want to be a part of it and know that I can contribute at any point in time.”

On the Rutgers game Saturday
“We watched film a little bit. We have to get after them. We have to be physical on our part. We have to throw the punches. We can’t let them dictate to what they do. We have to dictate to what we do.”
