Ciara Jenkins Q&A

Ciara Jenkins enters her fourth year as one of Nebraska's top breaststroke competitors.  In addition to her success in the pool, the senior from Mesa, Ariz., is also a top performer for the Huskers in the classroom. She earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2013 and 2014 and is a four-time selection to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Ciara took a few minutes to answer some questions to give us a little more insight into who she is outside of the pool and classroom.

Favorite meal: Green corn tamales

Favorite vegetable: Squash

Favorite workout music: NSYNC 

Something a lot of fans wouldn't know about you: I'm deaf in my left ear

Favorite sport other than swimming: to do myself-running, but to watch baseball 

Favorite travel destination: Traverse City, Michigan or Hawaii

Favorite outdoor activity: frisbee golf

Pre-meet ritual: Try my hardest to not think! 

Super power: I wish I didn't have to sleep so I could get more done and do more exciting things!

Best thing about Nebraska: the atmosphere builds your character and makes you a more genuine and marketable person.
