Huskers Focus on Road Battle with Spartans

Lincoln - Coach Bo Pelini and members of the Nebraska football team welcomed the media to Memorial Stadium on Monday to discuss this Saturday's Big Ten road clash with Michigan State.

Kickoff between the Huskers (5-0) and the Spartans (3-1) is set for 7 p.m., with live national television coverage provided by ABC.

Nebraska is coming off an impressive 45-14 win over Illinois in the Huskers' Big Ten opener on Saturday. Heisman hopeful Ameer Abdullah rushed for 208 yards, including 196 yards and all three of his touchdowns in the first half. It was Abdullah's third 200-yard rushing effort of the season. He heads to East Lansing with 833 yards on the year while averaging 166.6 yards per game.

However, the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week was not alone in having a big game against the Fighting Illini. Junior running back Imani Cross added a career-high 109 yards as the Huskers rolled up 458 yards on the ground against Illinois. Cross heads to Michigan State needing just five yards to reach 1,000 for his career.

Nebraska's rushing attack, which ranks second nationally with 354.8 yards per game will meet a formidable test on Saturday against a Spartan defense that ranks fourth nationally allowing just 74.3 yards per contest.
