On what this week means as he returns to Michigan
“It’s a huge week. For me personally, just being in front of my family and friends and a lot of people I don’t get to see very often get to see me play.  I’m very excited for that.”

On living in Michigan
“I lived in Michigan until I was about 15. Then I moved to Beatrice. I’m probably looking at around 25-30 tickets for Saturday. I have a lot of family and friends there.”

On whether he was a Michigan or Michigan State fan growing up
“I was a big Michigan guy, Michigan State basketball. I was kind of both ways. You usually don’t see that too often, but I was a fan of both.”

On what has led to the defense forcing more turnovers
“Just being on the right page with the guy next to you, communicating, being sound in your technique, and trust in one another. I think as the weeks go on and you’re on the field with the same guys at the same time, you kind of get more comfortable. I think that’s why we’ve been able to make a few more plays.”

On their respect for Michigan State
“You have to have a respect for everybody you play. I think that’s part of the game, if you don’t respect somebody they’re going to come and hit you in the mouth and give you something you don’t expect. It’s important to respect them, they’re a very talented group. We just have to have a good week of practice and be prepared for them.”

On how much fun was last Saturday’s performance
“It was very fun. Making plays for my team and celebrating with my guys, that’s what you play the game for. That was very fun especially to get my first one of my career and my second that was very fun.”

On whether his second interception surprised him a little bit
“I kind of got the same route concept throughout the game. I told myself if they run that again I’m going to have a good chance to make a play on the ball and luckily he threw the ball to me, so it worked out.”

On what the players were saying to him after his second interception
“They were giving me a lot of good stuff, I probably can’t say right now.  But like I said it was fun, it was a fun night for all of us.”

On what he saw on his first interception
“It was kind of a scramble drill. Me and the receiver were fighting pretty good in the end zone. My coach was teasing me because my technique was pretty bad at the beginning of the play.  Luckily Randy (Gregory) and those guys got some pressure on him and I jumped in front of him and just made a play on the ball.”

On how much of a challenge it is to go against Kenny Bell in practice
“Kenny (Bell) is a great receiver. A lot of people don’t know, but he is very physical. When you get your hands on him he’s swiping down at you. He’s very fast, so he’s definitely the best receiver in the Big Ten, I think. He’s definitely made me better as a player, just covering him through my time here, I think he’s made me better.”

On Kenny Bell’s tricks
“Yeah he’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeve. It’s very hard to cover him like I said. A lot the things he does to get himself open even if you’re right there. He’s definitely a great receiver in my book.”

On Michigan State receivers
“Like I said they’re very talented. They have Tony Lippett, he’s a great receiver. Size, strength, he’s deceptively fast and he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve also. They have a lot of guys that do some of those same things, they stretch the field for their quarterback.”

On Michigan State's size
“I played a few snaps against them last year but nothing too crazy. They’re very good. They do a lot of things to get open like I said. We just have to be prepared. It’s about us and what we do and how we prepare. So I feel like if we’re sound in our technique, if we’re communicating and all of us are on the same page we’ll be able to handle them.”

On MSU quarterback Connor Cook
“He has a great arm. He fits balls in very tight windows. He gives his receivers a chance to make plays on the ball even if they’re not wide open. You have to be prepared for him. We have to make plays on the ball. It’s about us like I said. We have to be sound in our technique.”

On the Michigan State game last year
“Well anytime you turn the ball over you aren’t giving yourself a good chance to win, so I feel like we take care of the ball and we control them on offense we should put ourselves in a position to win the game.”

On Randy Gregory’s blocking
“Randy (Gregory) can do a lot of things, man. Randy can do whatever he wants to do. He’s a very talented player and I’m glad he’s on our team.”

On trying to set Randy Gregory up for an interception
“No I wouldn’t say that. Randy (Gregory) is my roommate so you know I give him a lot of grief. We have a lot of fun. He can do whatever he wants to do you know. He’s probably our best player on defense. He’s just a great player.”

On Randy Gregory’s injuries being publicized and how he takes that
“He doesn’t let anything like that bother him. He doesn’t Google his name or anything. He’s kind of a low-key kind of guy. Randy doesn’t get into a lot of that.”

On Randy Gregory not being on Twitter
“He’ll tell you he doesn’t like Twitter, he doesn’t like social media. He’s not in tune to that kind of stuff. He’s very low-key.”

On Randy Gregory’s sense of how good he is
“I think he knows, but he definitely wouldn’t tell you. He’s not that kind of guy. I feel like he just wants to help this team win games and that’s what he’s been doing.”

On how he talks to Randy Gregory when he gets cheap shots at him
“He has a big target on his back so teams are going to try to do things like that to take him out of his game. But he’s responded well to that and made plays for us. That’s amazing for him to get double-teamed and chop-blocked and hit in the head and knee and stuff and still be able to make plays that’s just pretty impressive on his part.”
