Lincoln - The Nebraska women's basketball team's annual game with Creighton will be televised live by Fox Sports 1 on Thursday, Dec. 11. Tip time at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha has been set for 8:05 p.m. by Fox Sports 1.
The game will mark Nebraska's first-ever women's basketball appearance on Fox Sports 1. The game will be part of Creighton's BIG EAST package, which includes four regular-season games with the lone televised non-conference contest coming against the Huskers.
It is the first national television designation announced for a Nebraska women's basketball game heading into the 2014-15 season, but many more are expected to be announced within the next week to 10 days as part of the Big Ten Conference's agreements with the Big Ten Network, ESPN and CBS.
Last season, Nebraska made 10 regular-season appearances on national TV, including seven on BTN, two on ESPN2 and one on the Pac-12 Network. The Huskers added two more BTN appearances on their way to the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game, which was televised live nationally by ESPN.
Nebraska made two more appearances on ESPN2 as part of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, giving the Huskers a record 15 national TV appearances last season, including a record five on the ESPN family of networks.
Nebraska, which went 26-7 overall and 12-4 in the Big Ten on its way to the 2014 Big Ten Tournament championship, is set for its first-ever 18-game conference season in 2014-15. The Huskers' home schedule promises to be one of the best in history, including games against traditional powers Duke, Maryland, Penn State, Purdue, Iowa, Minnesota and Ohio State.
