Huskers in the Pros - 2014

Former Huskers Tatum and Taylor Edwards spent their rookie seasons in the National ProFastpitch league (NPF) this 2014. The sixth and seven Huskers to play in the NPF, the Edwards twins both played for the first-year expansion franchise the Pennsylvania Rebellion.

Taylor was chosen by the Rebellion with the eighth overall pick of the 2014 NPF Draft, while Tatum signed with the team as a free agent following her senior season. Both Edwards sisters were two-time All-Americans at Nebraska. Tatum was a second-team selection in 2013 and a third-team All-American in 2014, while Taylor was a third-team honoree in 2011 and a first-team All-American in 2014.

Tatum earned one of the Rebellion's nine victories and tied for the team lead with one save. Taylor led Pennsylvania with 13 RBIs and ranked third with three home runs. The duo starred in the Rebellion's nationally-televised game with the Chicago Bandits on July 13. Tatum earned the start and left with the lead after allowing three runs in 5.2 innings. She left with the lead thanks to Taylor's first professional grand slam.

Two weeks later, Tatum earned another start against the Bandits, this time in a Rebellion victory. Tatum allowed only one run in 3.1 innings, while Taylor homered against as part of a 2-for-2 day that included three RBIs.
