NU Ready For Spartans and Wolverines on the Road
The No. 58 Huskers face Michigan State on Friday, March 28 at 3 p.m. and No. 46 Michigan on Sunday, March 30 at noon. The Huskers sit at 9-7 overall, with a 3-5 mark against ranked teams including a 1-1 mark in the Big Ten. The Huskers were able to split the matches last weekend grabbing a win over Wisconsin for the second time this season, the previous being their victory over the Badgers during ITA Kick-off Weekend.
Huskers In The ITA National Rankings
Nebraska jumped to No. 58 in the ITA Top 75 after its split weekend. The national ITA Top 75 rankings were released on Tuesday, March 25.
The Cornhuskers are one of 11 Big Ten teams in the ITA Top 75. Nebraska is joined by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 10 Illinois, No. 23 Penn State, No. 28 Northwestern, No. 41 Purdue, No. 46 Michigan, No. 50 Minnesota, No. 62 Wisconsin, No. 65 Indiana, and No. 71 Iowa. Ohio State and Illinois are the only two Big Ten teams in the top ten and are joined by Penn State to be the only three in the top 25.
The Huskers are the eighth-highest ranked Big Ten team. The Huskers are 3-5 against ranked opponents suffering losses to No. 36 Florida State, No. 53 Texas Tech, No. 49 Louisville, No. 45 Drake and No. 50 Minnesota while toppling No. 52 Denver and Wisconsin twice while they were ranked No. 66 and No. 58.

The Spartans are 6-10 coming off of a three-match losing streak to face the No. 58-ranked Huskers. Michigan State went 14-14 overall in 2013 and 6-5 in conference play. The last match between the two teams was on Thursday, April 25, 2013 that resulted in a 4-3 victory for the Spartans, knocking the Cornhuskers out of the Big Ten Tournament.

The Wolverines are 9-8 and 1-2 in conference play coming off of a 4-3 loss to Louisville prior to facing No. 58-ranked Nebraska. Michigan went 16-10 overall in 2013 with a 9-2 Big Ten mark. Michigan is ranked No. 46 as a team in the ITA Top 75 and has one ranked singles player in No. 115 Alex Petrone and one ranked doubles pair in No. 24 Barrett Franks and Jack Alex Buzzi. The last match between the Wolverines and the Huskers was on Friday, April 12, 2013 in Lincoln, Neb. that resulted in a 5-2 win for the Blue.
