Huskers in the NFL Week 1

In Week 1 of the NFL season, several former Nebraska football players participated in the highly-anticipated opening weekend of action.

For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting linebacker Lavonte David was second on the team in tackles with eight, while also posting a quarterback sack as well as his second-career interception midway through the second quarter.

Third-year New York Giants starting corner Prince Amukamara started off his season strong as he accumulated four tackles and a pass deflection early in the Sunday Night Football contest against the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, an injury in the second quarter led to Amukamara missing the remainder of the contest.

Alfonzo Dennard made three solo stops and a pass deflection for the New England Patriots, while Jared Crick recorded three total tackles for the Houston Texans as both teams earned victories with last-second field goals.
