Pinnacle Bank Arena Open House Set for Aug. 29-31

The public will have an opportunity to see Pinnacle Bank Arena this week, as the $179 million dollar facility will be open for tours on Aug. 29-31.

The open house will take place following the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m this afternoon (Aug. 29).

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln pep band will play at 3:30 p.m. at the main R Street entrance, followed by a lion dance by the Linh Quang Lion/Dragon Dance Troupe, a tradition intended to bring good luck to new projects.

Some of the speakers scheduled to talk at the ribbon-cutting ceremony include Husker basketball coaches Tim Miles and Connie Yori, UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman, Governor Dave Heineman, Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler as well as representatives from the JPA, City Council, Chamber of Commerce as well as Mortenson/Hampton construction team and SMG.

After the ceremony, self-guided tours will be available from 4-10 p.m., and the open house will include live music, special $1 concessions and prize drawings for concert tickets and more, with free parking in Deck 1 (Red), the new garage just south of the arena

The open house weekend will continue with self-guided tours from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30. On Saturday, August 31, Pinnacle Bank Arena will be open at 11 a.m. and will stay open until the end of the NU vs. Wyoming football game. The football game will be shown on the new four-sided HD video board and food and beverages will be available.
