Pelini Spends Day at ESPN "Car Wash"

Forget about the men and women who asked Bo Pelini all the questions in his whirlwind of radio, TV and online interviews Wednesday at ESPN’s studios in Bristol, Conn. Ask the ESPN content associate who handled the logistics for nine segments that Pelini experienced in a 4-hour speedboat race that included a podcast with Ivan Maisel, separate “insiders” with Brett McMurphy and Travis Haney and an appearance on the Scott Van Pelt & Russillo Radio Show. This was the perfect pre-fall camp drill for a man who fully embraces his media responsibilities that also included College Football Live, SportsCenter, First Take, an ESPN.com Chat and Digital Media. Such a day would be grueling to many, but not to a head coach who keeps in shape and loves a challenge.

“I enjoyed spending time with Coach Pelini on his visit to the ESPN campus today,” said Jordan Loperena, who helped set the table for each interview session. “Coach Pelini was a pleasure to work with. He’s a straightforward guy, and I was very impressed with the manner he conducts himself and the way he runs his program.” Loperena graduated from the University of Iowa 2½ years ago, and Wednesday was his first up close and personal experience with a head coach whose team plays his alma mater on the day after Thanksgiving again in November. He was kind enough to help the N-Sider give Husker fans an opportunity to view and hear some of Pelini’s comments on the ESPN campus. They include:
