Lincoln – Nebraska baseball player Bryan Peters has been named a finalist for the TD Ameritrade Fan’s Choice Award. Voting is currently open here – https://www.facebook.com/collegehomerunderby/app_379747188807058 and goes through Friday, June 21.
Peters recently finished his senior season at Nebraska, helping the Huskers to 121 wins during his four-year career and a pair of postseason appearances, as he played in 173 games, including 152 starts. He ended his career tied with fellow senior Kash Kalkowski for third all-time at Nebraska in HBP with 47 each. Peters was Nebraska’s Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree for the 2013 baseball season.
The second-annual award recognizes college baseball players who excel beyond the diamond and whose leadership inspires others. Peters is one of 15 finalists who demonstrate integrity in all aspects of life, stay active in their community and are dedicated in the classroom. The winner will be determined by fans through Facebook voting and will be honored at the 2013 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby.

Davidson College’s Drew Gadaire won The 2012 Fan’s Choice Award. A senior co-captain who batted .328, Gadaire had an on-base percentage of more than .400. Off the field, the senior spent time in Fez, Morocco, as a recipient of the Dean Rusk Language Grant, where he studied Arabic with a native Moroccan tutor and volunteered at a local shelter for underprivileged boys. Gadaire majored in Psychology and was a member of Davidson’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
