Nebraska senior Jessica Furlan was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday as she was selected as the Big Ten Female Track Athlete of the Week.
Furlan finished first among collegians in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:58.52 at the Mt. SAC Relays last weekend. Her time ranks first in the Big Ten and third in the NCAA this season. The honor marks the first outdoor track and field weekly award of her career.
Furlan will compete at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend.
