A Message from Coach Krapfl

Chip-N Club Members,

We knew this season was going to be a rebuilding year for us after losing four of our top six golfers from a year ago. Our spring season has been challenging, but individually our players are still getting some good things accomplished.

Our young golfers have done some great things and are working to improve their consistency. We also have been able to work on a number of swing improvements during the course of the season, which we aren't always able to do because of the competitive nature of the season. Hopefully in the long run, those major and minor adjustments will benefit our golfers and our team.

Freshman Cassie Deeg has been a tremendous addition to our team. In our last tournament in Dallas, she proved that she can flat out play with anybody. She was paired with a defending national champion and basically matched her shot for shot. It was kind of an "ah-hah" moment for Cassie, and we hope it can go a long way toward her continued development.

We feel like we are playing some of our best golf right now, and we hope to finish strong at the Big Ten Tournament in French Lick, Ind., April 26-28.

We did have a very strong year in the classroom. Our golf program finished among the top four teams at Nebraska in grade-point average, including a 3.465 GPA during the fall semester. In fact, all nine golfers on our roster earned spots on the Nebraska Student-Athlete Fall Honor Roll by posting 3.0 or better semester grade-point averages.

Go Big Red!

Robin
