The Nebraska softball team will have a conference-high five games televised by the Big Ten Network (BTN) this season, BTN and the Big Ten Conference announced on Thursday.
Three Husker games will be televised live, while two will air on a tape-delayed basis. Airing live will be both games of Nebraska's home doubleheader with Minnesota on Wednesday, April 10, as well as the Huskers' home matchup with Michigan on Saturday, April 27. Both tape-delayed games will air at 2 p.m. (Central) on the same day of the game and feature matchups at Illinois on Sunday, March 31, and a home contest with Michigan on Sunday, April 28. For fans attending that home regular-season finale with the Wolverines, first pitch has been moved to 11:30 a.m.
Every game that is available on BTN is also available on BTN2Go, a 24/7 live feed of all BTN television programming. Full online access of BTN2Go is only available to subscribers of participating cable, satellite or telco providers. The online service is available at no additional cost to subscribers who already receive BTN as part of their channel lineup. For more information, visit http://www.BTN2go.com.
BTN, which has been assigned television rights from the Big Ten Conference of all 12 Big Ten schools, could also show the Huskers a few more times during the 2013 season. The network will pick up to five "wildcard" games to air at its discretion. BTN will also air both semifinals and the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament, which will be held at Bowlin Stadium May 9-12. The semifinals are set for Saturday, May 11, with the championship game on Sunday, May 12.
In addition to the television schedule, the conference and BTN also announced that five Husker road games will be broadcast on the BTN Digital Network, which requires an additional subscription to watch the internet-only live video feeds. Eleven additional games will air on HuskersNSide, Nebraska's subscription-based video service.
Overall, fans can watch 21 of Nebraska's final 32 games on BTN, the BTN Digital Network or on HuskersNSide. Select internet-only broadcasts of Nebraska's away Big Ten Conference games may be announced at a later date.
