Husker Q&A: Mike Peltz

The newest addition to the Husker roster, Mike Peltz joined the team prior to the start of practice in mid-October. Peltz, who is from Alliance, Neb., spent the last two years at Western Nebraska CC, helping the school to a 26-7 record and a national ranking in 2011-12. He averaged 7.5 points, 6.2 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game, ranking fifth in the country in assists per game. At Alliance High School, he was among the state's scoring leaders, averaging 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists as a senior.

Pregame rituals: Put my left sock and shoe on first because I am left-handed. I also pray before every game

Best athlete you've competed against:  Pierre Jackson, who plays basketball at Baylor.

Why you chose Nebraska:  The heritage and tradition at Nebraska, a school I have grown up following and also because of Coach Miles

Best thing about Nebraska: Probably the friendly people and the basketball facilities

What you want to do after college: I want to get into Pharmaceutical Sales
