Huskers in the NFL Week 2

In Week 2 of the NFL season, several former Nebraska football players played major roles for their teams. For the Washington Redskins, Dejon Gomes was third on the team with seven tackles along with one pass deflection in a loss to St. Louis.

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh recorded three total tackles, while also totaling one-and-one half sacks in a loss against San Francisco 49ers.

Rookie Lavonte David played well for the second straight week for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, making eight total tackles, including two TFL's, against the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. Tampa Bay's defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan is starting to build trust in his rookie by giving him the responsibility of making the defensive calls during the game.
