Chip-N Club Members,
It has been very rewarding to see the mental and physical development of this team over the past few months. They have really committed themselves to becoming better players. The effort they are giving in the weight room, at practice, and on the course is really showing up in competition.
Over spring break we had an opportunity to play five rounds with two teams that are ranked in the top 16 in the country, and I can tell we have as much ability as either one of those teams. I think the players are starting to see that and once they believe, really good things are going to happen.
One such occurence was Steffi Neisen's school-record 66 at Mountain View. She played with confidence and composure. Madeleine Sheils has been doing it all season, but she too has elevated her game to another level this spring. Kayla Knopik is playing solid golf, and I really am excited for what she can do the rest of the way out.
Katelyn Wright has also showed signs of becoming the player we know she can be. She played excellent at Westbrook Village and her consistency has really improved. It is just an exciting time, all of our goals are within reach. The weather has cooperated and our three-week break from tournaments will allow us to focus on being prepared for the stretch run.
Go Big Red!
Robin
