Freshman Corey Hilliard Jr. has been a significant contributor backing up seniors Bo Spencer and Brandon Richardson. Hilliard has played in eight games despite missing a month with an injury. He had a career-high six points against Rhode Island and has played in six of Nebraska's first nine Big Ten games since returning to action in late December.
We had a chance to talk with Corey to learn more about the freshman from Kansas City, Mo., who was a two-time all-state performer at Raytown South High School.
