Huskers Host Annual Intrasquad Meet

Lincoln - The Nebraska track and field team welcomes fans to come out and watch its annual Intrasquad Meet on Friday, Dec. 9 at the Devaney Center Indoor Track. The upcoming 2012 season marks the Huskers' first season in the Big Ten Conference, as they completed their final season in the Big 12 last year by capturing 23 of the 60 team titles. Nebraska will welcome the Big Ten schools by hosting the 2012 Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 24-25.

The team would like to invite the whole family to come, as admission is free.  For youth (8th grade and under), there will be a chance to show off their speed in the Little Huskers youth 100-meter and Little Husker youth 60-meter dashes. Prior to the meet, there will be Valentino's pizza and water for the first 150 youth participants.  Pizza and water will be handed out starting at 5 p.m. by the Devaney Center Indoor Track north entrance.

Pre-registration for the Little Huskers races can be done by sending an e-mail with youth's name, age, elementary school and city to sburton@huskers.com.  In the e-mail, please include the race(s) they would like to run (Little Huskers 60 meter dash, Little Huskers 100 meter dash or both). There will be a few open spaces to sign up for that night but we encourage people to pre-register.
