Wyatt Set to Compete at NCAA Colorado Regional

Erie, Colo. - Senior Husker golfer Andrew Wyatt will play in the 2011 NCAA Colorado Regional, Thursday through Saturday, for a chance to earn a spot in the NCAA Championship.

Wyatt earned the No. 8 individual seed at Colorado National Golf Club, a par-72, 7,758-yard layout, for the 54-hole event. The Lake Forest, Ill., native led the Huskers in scoring average (73.78), while also earning a team-leading four top-10 finishes and five rounds in the 60s. Wyatt competed in every tournament for the Huskers during the 2010-11 campaign, breaking 80 in 35 out of 36 rounds, while earning his top finish, a tie for third, at the Kansas Invitational in September.

Wyatt tees off in Thursday's first round at 10:50 a.m. (Central Time), along with Idaho's Jarred Bossio and Denver's Ole Ramsnes. Thirteen teams are competing in the field and the top five will move on to the NCAA Championship along with the top individual not from one of those five teams. Those who advance will join the top five teams from each of the other five regionals being played this week.

The NCAA Championship will be held May 31-June 5 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla.
