Huskers Head to College Station

After a tough loss to the No. 11 Baylor Bears last Saturday, the No. 37 Nebraska men's tennis team is set to travel to College Station, Texas, for its first conference road match of the year against No. 5 Texas A&M. The match against the Aggies will be this Sunday, April 10, at 1 p.m. at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

With last week's loss, the Huskers are now 14-7 on the season and 0-1 in the Big 12. Texas A&M defeated Rice on March 30, to improve to 18-4 while posting a 2-1 record in Big 12 play. The Aggies will play Big 12 foe Texas Tech on Friday, April 8, before facing the Huskers on Sunday.

History with the Aggies
Last season, No. 12 Texas A&M traveled to Lincoln, Neb., and downed No. 37 Nebraska, 4-3. The Huskers were able to win three of the six singles matches, but couldn't win the doubles point, which ended up costing them the match. 

Scouting the Texas A&M Aggies
The fifth-ranked Aggies have a record of 18-4 on the year, and 2-1 in Big 12 play with their lone loss coming to Texas back on Feb. 5. Texas A&M has three players nationally ranked, No. 26 Austin Krajicek, No. 45 Jeff Dadamo and No.87 Alexis Klegou. Playing at the top spot in the Aggies line-up will be senior Austin Krajicek while senior Jeff Dadamo will play at the No. 2 spot. The duo of Krajicek and Dadamo are also ranked No. 5 nationally in doubles play. Texas A&M is coached by Steve Denton.

Huskers at No. 37 in Latest Rankings
In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released on April 5, the Huskers jumped two spots up to No. 37. Nebraska is one of six Big 12 teams that are ranked in the ITA top 50. The other five teams include: No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 8 Texas, No. 13 Baylor, No. 19 Texas Tech and No. 26 Oklahoma.

Last Week: Baylor Downs Nebraska, 7-0
Nebraska began last Saturday's match against Baylor losing the doubles point. The Huskers weren't able to battle back losing the match, 7-0.

Baylor won all three doubles matches with all three scores being identical, 8-6 scores.The Huskers couldn't bounce back, and lost all six singles matches.

At the No. 1 spot, Baylor's John Peers defeated NU's Christopher Aumueller, 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 (10-4). At the No. 2 spot, the Bears' Sergio Ramirez downed the Huskers' Calin Paar, 6-1, 0-6, 7-6 (7-4). Baylor's Jordan Rux downed NU's Benedikt Lindheim at the No. 3 spot, 7-6, 6-3.

The bottom half of the Huskers' line-up wasn't able to shift the momentum, dropping all three points as well.

Robert Maytin of Baylor downed NU's Andre Stenger at the No. 4 spot, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3. At the No. 5 spot, Baylor's Luis Grangeiro defeated NU's Tom Blackwell, 6-3, 6-2. The Bears' Dennis Lengsfeld downed NU's Sebastian Florczyk at the No. 6 spot, 6-2, 6-4.
