The Nebraska Athletic Department and men's basketball program will honor senior guard Drake Beranek as a Hometown Husker on Saturday, Jan. 29, during the Nebraska men's basketball game against No. 13 Texas A&M. Beranek will be featured on the video boards features throughout Saturday's game.
Fans from Beranek's hometown, Ravenna, have the opportunity to come out and show support for their Hometown Husker, as they can receive a reduced-price group ticket rate for Saturday's game. For information on the group rate, contact the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 800-8BIGRED through Friday, Jan. 28.
Beranek has made a significant contribution to the Huskers' success in 2010-11, after joining the program in the fall of 2009 and sitting out last season. He has appeared in all 19 games this season, averaging 5.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. He is shooting 48 percent from the floor and a team-high 86 percent from the free throw line. In Nebraska's last home game, he matched his season high with 10 points in the Huskers' 79-67 win over Colorado.
Tickets for Saturday's 1 p.m. game are available on Huskers.com or by calling the Nebraska Ticket Office at 800-8BIGRED. In addition, any fan that purchases a ticket to Saturday's men's game can also use that ticket for the Nebraska-Texas Tech women's game at 7 p.m.
