Demand is always high and prospective participants are always asking for specific dates, so Nebraska has accelerated its annual announcement for the 2011 Big Red Football School registration.
"Families are always looking for holiday shopping ideas, and we just thought it made sense to announce these dates now rather than later," Nebraska Head Coach Bo Pelini said.
Pelini will be involved in all five Big Red Football Schools that use the University of Nebraska's facilities. They include:
- A Husker Youth Camp June 5-7 for participants entering grades 4 through 8.
- A High School Camp I June 7-9 for participants entering grades 9 through 12.
- A High School Camp II June 9-11 for participants entering the same grades.
- An Elite Quarterback Academy June 12-14 for high school-age players.
- A Big Red Kicking Academy June 12-13 for high school-age players.
"Our goal every year is to create an environment that becomes the best football camp experience in the country, whether it's for high school players or young kids who dream of playing in high school or college someday," said Jeff Jamrog, Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations.
"We've had football players from 37 states and Canada participate in our most recent camps," Jamrog said. "We think that kind of interest shows how we go the extra mile to make our camp experience the best any player will ever have."
The Big Red Football School Experience ranges from individual instruction on technique and mental preparation to the strength/conditioning/nutrition tips that lead to optimal performance.
"We believe we've put together five camps that will teach, motivate, encourage and counsel players on ways they can get better," Jamrog said. "We focus on fundamentals and do everything we can to make football fun, safe and enjoyable."
