Lincoln- The Nebraska football team practiced for just less than two hours Thursday inside the Hawks Championship Center and on the Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Fields as the Huskers finished preparations for Texas A&M on Saturday. After practice, Head Coach Bo Pelini addressed the media about this week's match-up with the Aggies.
"It was a good week," Pelini said. "It was a good week of practice. I thought it was a good week of preparation. Now it is just mental from here on out until Saturday."
Texas A&M has been known to use an up-tempo and no-huddle style of offense. Pelini commented on the complexities of knowing how fast the tempo will be, but said his team is prepared.
"Every tempo is a little bit different," Pelini said. "Every style of offense is a little bit different. You just have to be ready to respond no matter how fast they're going or whatever the tempo is."
Pelini has noted the play of Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill. He has been impressed with the junior quarterback after making a position change from wide receiver.
"He's obviously a good athlete from playing another position and all," Pelini said. "He's tough, he's smart, he makes good decisions. He shows the ability to run. I don't think he's a run-first guy. He's more of a pocket guy, but he can run. He's a good football player."
The Huskers and Aggies are scheduled to kick off on Saturday at 7 p.m. from Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. The game will be shown regionally on ABC.
