Nebraska Diving Squad Compete in Phill Hansel Cougar Classic Invitational

Nebraska Diving at Phill Hansel Cougar Classic Invitational

The Nebraska diving team will continue their regular season by competing in the Phill Hansel Cougar Classic Invitational this weekend in Houston, Texas at the University of Houston Campus recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium.  

On Thurs, Nov. 18, the Husker divers will be competing in the preliminary 3-Meter diving event at 2 p.m. with the finals Thursday night. The event will consist of six optional dives cut to eight for the evening session.

Following the 3-meter event, on Friday the divers will compete in the 1-meter preliminaries at 12:30 p.m. with the finals following Friday evening. The event will again consist of six optional dives cut to eight for finals at 5 p.m.

Saturday, the Huskers will compete in the combined men's and women's platform diving event. The event, beginning at 1 p.m., will consist of five optional dives.

The Huskers face tough competition this weekend with participating teams including Big 12 foe Texas  A&M, SMU, LSU, Houston and Tulane.

Splitting Up:

The Nebraska swimming and diving teams are heading in separate directions this weekend for the only time this season. The swimming squad will be taking a road trip to South Dakota (Nov. 19) and South Dakota State (Nov. 20).

Pool Points:

Payton Michaud finished in second-place in both the 1- and 3-meter diving events against Wyoming and North Dakota this past Saturday.

The Huskers took both second and third-place in the 1- and 3-meter diving events against Wyoming and North Dakota. While Payton Michaud took second-place in each, Amy Herman took third-place in the 1-meter and Kaitlan Walker took third-place in the 3-meter diving event.
