Huskers Look Ahead to Aggies

Two days after the Blackshirts allowed just 87 yards of offense against the Kansas Jayhawks, the Nebraska football team returned for a 2-hour practice Monday afternoon on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields outside of the Hawks Championship Center. It was a practice that Head Coach Bo Pelini felt was a bit scaled back compared to most.

"Practice went fine," Pelini said. "It was a good day. It was a good start to the week. We had some good on good and we got a good start on Texas A&M. It was a short day today."

Pelini spoke briefly on Texas A&M and their current starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill.

"They're a good team," Pelini said. "They're well coached and have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. It will be a good test for us. Tannehill is a good football player."

Pelini also talked about sophomore Eric Martin's recent move to defensive end and how quickly he could potentially see time at that position.

"He is doing well," Pelini said. "He just keeps getting better. He is explosive. We just feel like he is a guy we are going to want to get on the field. We think he can do a number of different things. He brings versatility to the end position and I think he will be good there. We are getting him prepared to get in there, especially on third down. He could do some things that way."

The Huskers will practice again tomorrow in preparation for Saturday's prime-time match-up against No. 18 Texas A&M. The game can be seen regionally on ABC at 7 p.m.
