On if he tells the quarterback he can catch shorter passes or just touchdown passes
"I was actually joking with Zac (Lee) because I dropped the shortest pass this week. But I just do my part. A lot of the times, with how well we are running the ball, the safeties come flying up to stop the run, and that gives me the opportunity to go deep and they do a good job of finding me."

On if the run opened up for his touchdown catch on Saturday
"Yeah, especially if you have Roy (Helu Jr.) running for over 300 yards, the safeties have to step up and they have to do something to stop Roy. The play I scored on was a play-action pass, which left me one-on-one with the corner, which is what we want."

On if there is a misconception about the involvement of the tight ends in this offense
"In our room, we're not worried about it at all. We want to be complete players, so we work on blocking as well. If you get caught up in how many catches you get, you're not really focused. We try to be great team players."

On if they were getting a sense of big plays on offense in the Missouri game
"We don't necessarily talk about getting big plays. We talk a lot about just execution and details, little things like that. We had a great week of practice, so we knew we were going to be prepared, and we knew there would be a lot of opportunities for us to take advantage if we do the little things correct."

On what kind of thoughts they had about the offense after the Iowa State game last year
"Personally I didn't play too much in that game, but just talking to other guys, we let the defense down that game. Anytime you have eight turnovers, you are kind of down."

On if after that game was a tough time
"It was but the one thing we did well was learn. That was the turning point in our season, because we won out with the exception of the Big 12 Championship. The coaches didn't allow us to just wander around. We picked up the pace in practice."

On the attitude in the locker room because they are leading the North
"The confidence is really high. We are thinking just because we beat Missouri doesn't mean we won the North. We still have to play Colorado, KU, Iowa State and we can't have any more letdowns. Everything we want is still out there."
