1st Quarter<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

?         Pre-game note ? junior CB Trey Hobson did not make the trip for today’s game, in order to attend the funeral of his cousin.  The service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Wichita, Kan.  Hobson practiced with his teammates all week and left Thursday evening to be with his family...

?         Sophomore DL Jimmy Burge made his first career start Saturday, taking the place of junior Dominique Hamilton, who was lost for the season to a broken ankle, sustained last Saturday in the win over Oklahoma...

?         Mizzou fell behind 7-0 after a long TD run by Nebraska on their first snap of the day.  That marked only the third TD allowed in the 1st quarter this season by the Tiger defense (San Diego State, Oklahoma).  Mizzou had also not trailed in the 1st quarter of play since the season opener, when it trailed Illinois, 3-0 after one period...

?         Nebraska extended the lead to 24-0 which represented the largest deficit of the season for Mizzou.  The Tigers’ previous largest deficit was when they trailed Illinois, 13-3 at halftime in the season opener before rallying for a 23-13 win on Sept. 4th...

?         The Tiger offense got on the board thanks to a 33-yard TD run by junior TB De’Vion Moore with 11:27 left to make it 24-7.  The drive covered 6 plays and went 53 yards, taking 2:13 off the clock.  It was Moore’s 5th rushing TD of the season, putting him in the team lead...

?         The half ended with Nebraska holding a 24-7 lead.  The Tigers had a couple of opportunities to close the gap but a potential TD pass couldn’t be snagged in the endzone on a diving attempt by WR Rolandis Woodland, and a 54-yard field goal attempt late in the quarter by PK Grant Ressel was on line, but came up just short...

?         The near-miss by Ressel broke a string of 13 consecutive-made field goals.  He hadn’t missed since his first try of the season, on Sept. 4th, against Illinois...

?         Mizzou turned the tables statistically a bit in the quarter, as it outgained Nebraska, 118-44 in total yardage, after the Huskers held a 256-48 edge in the 1st quarter of play...

3rd Quarter

?         After the teams traded punts to open play, Mizzou put together a scoring drive to close to within 24-14 at the 7:30 mark.  The score came on a Blaine Gabbert 23-yard TD pass to WR T.J. Moe on a 3rd-and-5 play.  It was Moe’s team-leading 4th receiving TD of the season, and it gave Gabbert 12 TD passes on the season...

?         Mizzou cut it to a 31-17 deficit with 1:35 left on a Grant Ressel 23-yard field goal.  Ressel improved to 14-of-16 on field goals on the season...
