Hoppenrath Honored in Chick-fil-A Community of Champions

Senior Blaine Hoppenrath was recognized Wednesday as the University of Nebraska's representative in the Big 12's 2010 Fall Chick-fil-A Community of Champions. Each school in the Big 12 Conference has one representative that is determined by Academics, Community Service and Leadership/Sportsmanship. The University of Nebraska will be awarded $3,000 from Chick-fil-A thanks to Hoppenrath's efforts.

A native of Kansas City, Mo., Hoppenrath is an industrial engineering major at Nebraska. She has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and her time of 2:00.12 in the 200-yard butterfly is the fifth-fastest in school history.

The Huskers next swimming and diving meet is Saturday, November 6th at Nevada.
