On Sunday, September 26, 2010, the Life Skills department held its 3rd annual Student-Athlete Involvement Fair in the West Stadium Club at Memorial Stadium.
More than 18 nonprofit agencies and 200 student athletes attended the event, which was designed to connect nonprofit agencies with student-athletes to provide opportunities for volunteerism and community outreach.
The attending student athletes had diverse volunteer opportunities to choose from. The nonprofit agencies ranged from homeless and victim shelters, food pantries, and free clinics to youth recreational sports and volunteering abroad programs. Both student-athletes and agency representatives found the event to be very positive and productive.
The Involvement Fair is part of Nebraska Athletics' continued commitment to student-athlete community service and outreach.
