On the impact of the Texas game last year on the program
"I think we've changed people's views of us. I think a lot of people thought we were going to get blown out, and that we didn't really have a chance against Texas. It kind of changed the way people looked at us."
On his emotions after the game last year
"There were a lot of emotions. We were angry, upset, sad...you know, in some ways, you felt like you were wronged. It was tough. It was definitely a tough loss, and it was hard to walk off the field and not have won the game."
On facing Texas's defense
"Their defense is really good. We've been watching them on film. Texas has athletes everywhere. A lot of speed, they play a lot of cover one, even cover zero, which obviously takes a lot of skill. It takes a lot in the back-end to do that. That's what our guys do, so we've seen it a lot. We haven't seen it the past five weeks from our opponents, but going against our own defense, we see it all the time-a lot of press coverage, stuff like that. We'll give them a different look than what they've seen, but I think we'll get a lot of the same from them, as far as playing the man-to-man and playing us up tight."
On QB Taylor Martinez's presence in the huddle
"He's not the 'rah-rah, I'm going to get you guys hyped up' type. I'd say he's doing a pretty good job. I don't think he needs to come in there and hype us up or get us going. He's making plays and he's making the right calls, doing the right things. As far as he's doing that and managing the game, we'll be all right."
On how it feels playing in a more run-heavy offense
"You just have to want to win games. Right now, we're doing that, and we're doing well. You still want the ball, you obviously always want the ball. I've said that every time I've been asked about it. But at the same time, it's a team game, and you have to go with what's working and you have to do what you're good at. Right now, we're running the ball well, and that's just the way you have to look at it."
