Marlborough, Jackson Rank Among National Scoring Leaders

Lincoln - Nebraska's sophomore duo of Morgan Marlborough and Jordan Jackson are among the national scoring leaders in the latest NCAA statistics released Monday afternoon. Marlborough leads the NCAA with 38 points, while Jackson is 12th nationally with 26. The pair also shares the conference assist lead with eight, ranking in a tie for 11th in the nation.

Marlborough and Jackson have been very effective in recent games, as the duo has combined for 23 points (Marlborough 13, Jackson 10) in the past three matches alone. The Huskers have averaged 4.33 goals per game during that stretch and scored at least four goals in three straight matches for the first time since 2001.

A native of Lee's Summit, Mo., Marlborough holds the national scoring lead by two points over Stanford's Christen Press. She also ranks third in goals with 15 as she has scored in a school record eight straight games to break former Husker Christine Latham's 11-year record. Jackson, a native of Overland Park, Kan., has nine goals and eight assists on the season, already doubling her freshman total of 13 points.

Marlborough and Jackson have led the Huskers to an 11-4-0 (4-2-0) record with four regular season games remaining. Nebraska travels to Oklahoma and No. 7 Oklahoma State this week before its home finale Oct. 22 against Kansas.
