The Nebraska swimming and diving team battled former Nebraska swimmers Saturday morning at the Devaney Natatorium in the 10th annual Alumni Meet.
The current Huskers pulled out a close win over the Alumni 110-88, led by individual wins by Ashley Reiter in the 50-yard breaststroke, Kelsey Larson in the 100-yard breaststoke and Hayley Martin in the 50-yard backstroke.
The talented alumni were led by Mike Irvin, who had three individual wins in the 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard IM and 100-yard butterfly. Irvin was a four-time letterwinner at Nebraska from 1986 to 1989. Other alumni winners include Allen Kelsey (100-yard freestyle, 50-yard butterfly) and Tad Borrett (50-yard freestyle).
Fifteen alumni attended the meet, though not all competed. Other notable alumni in attendance included Colleen and Karen Criss, Mariah Hutchinson and Sarah Ziegelmann from last year's squad.
The Huskers return to the Devaney Natatorium Saturday, Oct. 2, for the Scarlet vs. Cream Intrasquad meet at 10 a.m. The Huskers begin the regular season Saturday, Oct. 9, at Illinois.
