Huskers Discuss Progress at First Press Conference

Lincoln - Coach Bo Pelini and the Huskers welcomed the media to Memorial Stadium for the first weekly press conference of the season on Tuesday.

Pelini, who enters his third season as Nebraska football coach, said the Huskers have progressed well throughout fall camp but still have a long way to go.

He said the Huskers have no plans to name a starting quarterback before Saturday's game with Western Kentucky, which is scheduled to kickoff at 6 p.m. (central) with a live FSN Pay-Per-View telecast.

Pelini did say the defense has the potential to be very good, but still has a long way to go. He also noted that the Husker special teams units are ahead of where they were at last year.
