Husker Divers Participate In Preliminary Zone C Meet

Lincoln - Four members of the Nebraska diving team participated in the 2010 USA Diving National Preliminary Zone C Meet hosted by the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The meet ran from July 9-14.

Nebraska divers Kailey Creek, Amy Herman, Alyson Ramsey and Kaitlan Walker competed in the one- and three-meter springboards during the six-day event.

Walker finished 10th on the three-meter springboard, while Herman finished 31st, Ramsey took 33rd and Creek claimed 34th place.

In the one-meter springboard, Walker led the Huskers with a 19th-place showing, while Ramsey finished 28th, Herman 29th and Creek 37th.

Nebraska Diving Coach Natalya Chikina said the Zone C Meet helped the Huskers stay in diving shape during the off-season and benefit their performances during the upcoming collegiate season.

The Huskers return to the pool for their first meet of the 2010-11 season on Sept. 25 with the Alumni Meet.
