Deadline to Hear Carl Pelini Speak at Walk-On Club Luncheon is 5 p.m. Friday

This week, ESPNU wired Nebraska's Carl Pelini for sound at a Husker football practice, so it can give fans an inside look at a defensive coordinator whose team led the nation in 2009 in scoring defense.

For fans that prefer an expanded view of the Blackshirts, you're in luck. Carl Pelini is the featured speaker at Nebraska's first Walk-On Club Luncheon of the season at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Lincoln Station in downtown's Haymarket District.

The deadline to to make your reservations to attend that luncheon is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20.

The quickest way to secure a reservation is to make it online at Huskers.Donornetpac.com or by contacting Kiley Abdouch in the Nebraska Athletic Department by phone (402-472-0795)

Pelini will give his view on the 2010 Huskers and focus his comments on the Huskers' current and newest walk-ons as well as the Blackshirts. Tickets cost $20 each. Fans can also reserve a table of eight for $160.

Future luncheons will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 29 and Thursday, Dec. 9, both at 11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Station, and fans can reserve a table for all three luncheons for $450, a $30 discount.

Hors d'oeuvres and dessert will be served at the Elkhorn Season Kickoff Event. Tickets cost $10 each, and reservations must be made by Wednesday, Aug. 25.
