Huskers Announce NET Volleyball Schedule, Texas Time Change

Lincoln - The Nebraska Athletic Department and NET Television announced on Tuesday that eight regular-season Husker volleyball matches will be aired on the network during the 2010 season.

The Big 12 Conference also announced that the Huskers' home match against the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, Oct. 2 will be moved from 8 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. due to television scheduling. The game will still be televised on FSN.

The first televised match on NET will be the Huskers' Big 12 home opener against Colorado on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. Four days later, NET will broadcast the Huskers' meeting with the Kansas Jayhawks at 7 p.m.

In the month of October, the Huskers will be on NET four times, including matches against Texas A&M (Oct. 9 - 7 p.m.), Texas Tech (Oct. 20 - 7 p.m.), Missouri (Oct. 23 - TBA) and Iowa State (Oct. 30 - TBA). Including the previously mentioned match against Texas on Oct. 2, all five of Nebraska's home matches during the month of October will be seen on television.

The last two matches of the eight-game package will be November meetings with Kansas State on Nov. 10 and Oklahoma on Nov. 17, with both matches set for 7 p.m.

All of the Huskers' matches will be carried on NET-1 (Ch. 12) and shown in high definition on NET-HD (Ch.  112 on most cable systems across the state). The NET broadcast team of Larry Punteney and Kathi Weiskamp will once again bring fans all of the action. For fans outside the state of Nebraska, all NET-originating matches will be carried for free on Huskers.com.

Today's announcement means that volleyball fans will be able to see the Huskers on television 11 times during the 2010 regular season. Along with being broadcast on FSN and NET, Nebraska's matches at Iowa State (Sept. 15) and at Texas (Oct. 27) will be carried on ESPNU. All three matches on FSN and ESPNU were included in the Big 12's announcement of the conference TV schedule earlier in August.

In addition, audio for every match of the 2010 season will be carried on the Husker Sports Radio Network and on the Internet at Huskers.com.
