Lincoln - The NCAA sent out its invitations for the 2010 women's gymnastics national championships on Monday morning, setting the 12-team field at the NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Florida at the Steven C. O'Connell Center, April 22-24 in Gainesville, Fla.
The Central Regional runner-up Huskers (21-5) will take on UCLA, Oklahoma, Utah, Oregon State and LSU in the first session of the preliminary round on Thursday, April 22. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. (EST), and NU will begin with beam, followed by a bye, then floor, vault, bye and bars.
Second-round action, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, will include host Florida, Alabama, Stanford, Arkansas, Missouri and Michigan.
Juniors Erin Davis and Brittnee Habbib, who are the defending regional vault and bars champions respectively, will lead the 12th-ranked Huskers into their 19th NCAA Championships appearance in school history.
