Fulmer Leads Huskers to Win at Virginia

Charlottesville, Va. - Forward Michaella Fulmer ended Nebraska's trip to Virginia on a high note as she scored the game-winning goal to give the Huskers a 1-0 victory over the Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon in Charlottesville, Va. The two squads played back-to-back contests, with NU and UV fighting to a 2-2 tie in the morning meeting.

Fulmer netted the game-winner on an assist from forward Morgan Marlborough with two minutes remaining, while goalkeeper Tara Macdonald held a talented Virginia team scoreless in a 60-minute shutout. The Cavaliers reached the 2009 NCAA Sweet 16 and are one of seven NCAA Tournament squads the Huskers are facing during the 2010 spring season.

Nebraska's win in the second match of the day immediately followed a 2-2 tie in the morning match. Marlborough began a strong offensive day by scoring one goal and assisting Molly Thomas on another in the tie, while Stacy Bartels was responsible for the assist on Marlborough's goal.

The Huskers will now have a week away from travel before its last road trip of the spring season April 11 when they face Marquette and Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee.
