Huskers Head West to Stanford Invitational

Lincoln ? The Nebraska distance and throws squads will be in action this weekend at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. The meet is scheduled to start on Friday, March 26 at 11 a.m. (Central) with the men’s javelin competition, while action on the track will start at 1 p.m. with the first section of the men’s 5,000 meters. The Huskers will return to Cobb Track at Angell Field on Saturday for the women’s hammer throw at 11 a.m. and women’s 800 meters at 3:30 p.m.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

With the 2010 indoor season ending two weeks ago at the NCAA Indoor Championships, the Huskers are still making the transition to the outdoor season. Last weekend the Husker hurdlers traveled to the Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., and next weekend the entire NU track and field team will head southwest to Tucson, Ariz., for the Jim Click Shootout.
