Arntz Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Lincoln - Nebraska senior Kaitlin Arntz qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships as the qualifying field was announced on Wednesday evening. Arntz sealed her place in the NCAAs with an outstanding run at the Big 12 Championships last week, and will compete in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM at the NCAAs. The event runs from March 18-20 in West Lafayette, Ind., on the campus of Purdue University.

Arntz earned three B-cut NCAA provisional times at the Big 12 Championships last week, and her time in the 100-yard breaststroke earned her a spot in the NCAA field. Arntz had three top-six finishes at the Big 12s, and set three career-best times in the 100 and 200 Breast and the 200 IM. Arntz also swam the third-fastest times in the 100 and 200 Breast in school history, and is only behind former Olympians Penny Heyns and Julia Russell.

Arntz is the first Husker to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Lauren Bailey did in 2007.
