Huskers Post 23 on Big 12 Commissioner?s Honor Roll

Lincoln - The Nebraska soccer team came through with another big presence on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll as 23 current and former student-athletes earned the required 3.0 grade-point average during the fall 2009 semester. The total marks the sixth time in the past seven semesters that the Husker soccer program has had at least 20 members on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll, an average of 22 per term since the fall of 2006.

The 2009 senior class led the semester selections, as all six are on the list, including the seventh-straight honors for Shay Powell, Anna Caniglia and Carly Peetz. Powell nailed down another 4.0 GPA, while Julie Berkshire, Lauren Isenhower and Brittney Lanier also claimed spots on the honor roll.

Michaella Fulmer, Colleen Goetzmann, Jessica Mills, Anna White and Jaclyn White gave the juniors five selections, while Katie Goetzmann and Blair Slapper represented the sophomore class. Five members of Nebraska's freshman class gained honors at their first opportunity in Bri Badje, Taylor Houck, Jordan Jackson, Morgan Marlborough and Emma Stevens.

A total of 359 Nebraska student-athletes across all 23 varsity sports claimed spots on the honor roll, including 38 with perfect 4.0 GPAs.
